Watch Me
10" x 7.5" Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper
by Rae Abigael J. Caacbay

Just let them say whatever it is they wanna say against you. Take it all in and absorb it. But don't let those words eat you up. Don't allow them to be your label as you grow up. Just keep them and make them a motivational tool to make you push forward and just do whatever it is that you wanna pursue. Keep those hurtful words with you and wear it like a crown.

+ + +

These words are thrown at me from time to time. Yes, they sometimes really go all the way to the inside of my heart that it hurts so much. So like, one time, someone said something about me that my capabilities and life choices were judged, so I poured my heart out and I was able to create this painting.

  8. This painting is very beautiful and expressive. The text that accompanies the painting is very meaningful. People are always trying to put our downs with words. Sometimes it is not even intentional, they just see the world through their own eyes...and some people are very negative about everything or they have a very restricted view of things. We just need to be careful not to pick up all that negativity from them.
