I've decided to create THE J PROJECT which is inspired by my dear cousin not just to make myself a better person but to spread kindness in this world. And hopefully, through this project, I will be able to immortalize his memories by making the world a better place.
Just conquer the world one random act of kindness at a time!
Everyone's invited to join in. :)
If you're a blogger, I hope you can share your J Project in your blog and link this original post on your post. And you're free to leave your link in the comment section below because I'd like to see and share them! :))
The J Project: The List of Acts
Note: You can do this randomly. You're not required to chronologically follow the list. Also, please remember to do this whole-heartedly.
1. Free Hugs.
You don't have to really give hugs to strangers if you're not comfortable but you can always start giving hugs to your classmate who's sad, your friends, your family, and so on and so forth.
Ever since my cousin died, me being a hugger has increased to the highest level. I've been hugging my brothers and friends and yfc family and everyone to the extent! I mean, you'll never know kasi when you'll see someone for the last time. I wasn't able to hug my cousin so tight on the very last moment we saw each other before the incident.
(My cousin is the sweetest! Super lambing niya kasi! )
2. Greet the "kuya" and "ate" guards (the security guards) with a smile.
Simple hello and hi or good day may make their day! You can even have a short chat with them.
I've been greeting our school guards since I heard stories about my cousin being friends with a lot of people including those that the world takes for granted or those that are usually ignored by the commoners.
I salute them by the way for a job well done in protecting us (in school) and for helping me cross the street! hehe
3. Greet the janitors.
Simple hello and hi can make their day!
I am actually friends with some of our janitors in school now and I am really happy when I see them smiling.
4. Leave inspiring messages (through post-its or similar ones) in random places.
Leave them in a public toilet cubicle door, in classrooms, in bus seats, in traffic lights, in random product goods in malls... anywhere! You'll never know whom you might cheer up. This can be super inspiring to those who are so down. Words can heal.
5. Treat a street kid!!!
Save up your allowance and bring a street kid with you in a fast food chain (say Jollibee or Mcdonald's because of spaghetti. you know, kids love spaghetti!) or in a restaurant and eat together!
Do this at least once or twice a month. ;)
6. Hold the door open.
7. Hold the elevator door.
8. Give your seat to an elderly person.
8. Pick-up the trash.
This seems simple yet we don't do it at all. And because we don't do it, we contribute in the destruction of mother earth. Be kind. Pick-up the trash you see in the streets and throw it in the proper disposal.
9. Give a bottle with cold water to a bus driver or jeepney driver or tricycle driver.
Traffic + hot weather = Philippines.
Bring them joy!
10. Give carepacks to the Homeless.
11. Stop negative conversations. Spread the positive vibes!
12. Smile at strangers.
“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” -Plato
13. Say something nice to someone.
14. Post it thank yous.
Thank people by using sticky notes.
I like doing this because I enjoy seeing the simple happiness and smiles of the people receiving post it thank you from me. :) When I borrow something from someone, I leave a thank you note upon returning the item to them.
15. Let Someone Go In Line In Front Of You
***more acts to come

I am launching this project today, exactly 5 months after my cousin's death. He really is an angel sent by God. I hope we can make this world a little bit better by doing this J Project. :)
I'll be updating this often. :))
INSPIRATIONAL VIDEO: Kindness chain
I first saw this video in a YFC event and I think it's really inspirational indeed. I hope you'll take some time to watch this. ;))
And I hope you can join The J Project! :>
P.S. This project is not fully finished but I just really want to launch it today.
